Description

Currently our lab has two focus area. One part of our lab research is focused on understanding the complex interplay between mRNA, and RNA-binding proteins (RBPs), studying their roles in various cellular processes and disease mechanisms. I have shown that mRNA multiplexing i.e formation of mRNA transperon have role in cellular physiological function. In our lab we are trying to explore the role of mRNA multiplexing in the formation of heterogenous ribosome subpopulation. Another ribosome subpopulations which we interested is dormant ribosome and we are trying to identify its role in drug resistance. Recently using Insilco tolls we have identified the domain and mutation that drives the formation of aggregation of RNA binding protein BLM. We are exploring in more detail the RNA binding function of BLM protein.
