Description

Dr. Bikash's research focuses on understanding the role of noncoding RNA (microRNAs) in regulating the complex relationships between parasites and their hosts. The goal is to improve diagnostic methods and treatment strategies for parasitic infections. He has explored how parasites evade host immune responses by secreting extracellular vesicles and cargo microRNA, vital for their survival and proliferation within host organisms. The investigations extend to the molecular and cellular mechanisms underpinning host-parasite interactions, aiming to unravel how parasites evade host immune responses and establish chronic infections. The research also delves into parasites' genetic and proteomic profiling to identify potential therapeutic intervention and vaccine development targets.
